In order to be registered for the course you need to be physically present at Campus Gotland at the roll call on the first day of the course. The first week is one of the most intensive periods of the course and attendance is mandatory. After that intensive weeks with mandatory attendance will alternate with weeks when some of the course can be done elsewhere. Students should try to have access to a scanner or a quality camera since assignments and drawings should be submitted digitally.
During the period June 29-July 5, 2020, Campus Gotland will be closed and no lectures or seminars will be given. During this week the course work will consist of individual work which can be carried out elsewhere.
About the course:
The course provides a broad understanding of the depiction of the human form. You will gain knowledge about form, volume, perspective and anatomy, as well as how to make use of hues, light and shade. We will study the construction and anatomy of the human head as well as the major muscles and learn how to use them in character design. The course includes teacher-led model studies and theoretical elements which will provide both in-depth knowledge and useful tools for future studies.
