About the course
In the course you will deepen your knowledge about the school subject Swedish as a Second Language, you will learn more about didactic research and you will get an opportunity to develop your didactic skills. In the course the school subject Swedish as a Second Language is put into a broader perspective, organizationally, historically and ideologically. You will critically reflect about the emergence of the field and its complex role and function today and you will learn about how second language teaching can be organized in different ways.
Starting with scientific and pedagogic literature you will discuss how you can plan lessons that allows students to use multiple languages and you will practice teaching based on current regulations and research. The course builds on parts of the A- and B-course in Swedish as a Second Language and it gives you good knowledge about didactic theory and method that can be used for writing your degree project and further research.
