Various career fairs

The fairs are usually organised by student organisations and unions, in collaboration with UU Careers. UTNARM organises career fairs in the field of technology and natural science, Pharmada is held for pharmaceutical students, KontaktVeckan is for students in law, CareerDay is for political science, peace and conflict studies and development studies, and Kontaktdagarna is in the field of business and economics, systems science, and media and communication – just to name a few of our career fairs. Some fairs are very large with numerous participating companies and organisations. The fairs are usually for both Swedish students and international students at the University.

What you can do at a career fair

At the fairs, you can get to know potential employers, build your network, and look for opportunities for doing internships or thesis projects. As at all career fairs, you can also hand in your CV. Some participating employers have jobs (part-time or full-time) or thesis projects to offer directly at the fairs. You can also pre-book meetings with some companies to have a longer dialogue.

Previous participating RECRUITERS

A wide range of companies and organisations have participated in our previous career fairs. The big employers include Accenture, AFRY, Apple, Danske Bank, Deloitte, Ericsson, Google, NCC, Oracle, PWC, SAAB, Scania, SEB, Sweco, Tele2 and Unilever. Needless to say, organisations and NGOs have participated in our fairs as well, such as Afrikagrupperna, Peaceworks, the Swedish Development Forum, the Swedish International Centre for Local Democracy, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).

Our Virtual career fairs

We have been hosting virtual career fairs with different fields in focus. The digital form of career fairs allows us more flexibility, so it has been possible to offer smaller fairs more frequently. Some companies have even held their own digital fairs for our students, such as BMW Car IT.

Due to the pandemic, our on-campus career fairs have also been held digitally. UTNARM, for instance, organised their virtual fair 2020 with about 75 employers in November. Students who signed up for the fair could virtually visit the company booths with information about their businesses and vacant positions, video chat with recruiters, make appointments for further dialogues, and participate in webinars.
