Seize the opportunities

Start to think about your career already during your Master’s studies and seize all the valuable opportunities for your career development.

Make the Most of Our Career Portals

As a student at Uppsala University, you have access to our career portals, free of charge. The two that are provided by UU Careers are UU CareerGate and GoinGlobal. Make the most of these resources as they make it a lot easier for you to start your career or take your career to the next level.

On UU CareerGate, you can find opportunities for internships, degree projects, trainee positions and jobs available in Sweden and Europe for our students and graduates. In the events section, you will find career events held within and outside our CareerTuesdays and various career fairs.

GoinGlobal

On the extensive career platform GoinGlobal, you will have access to a comprehensive employment resource toolkit that provides all kinds of country-specific information and advice that you need to start your career or take your career to the next level, wherever in the world you want to be. There is also information about the cost of living in different countries, taxes, health care and insurance, to help you choose your next destination. Moreover, you will find a variety of cultural advice for each country, from corporate culture to everyday life, to help you integrate.

Do an internship

An internship is one of the best ways to enter the job market. Many Master’s programmes encourage students to do internships as part of their studies, and you are often allowed to do your internship outside Sweden.

We will guide you to an internship that suits your background and career plans:

  • You can find internship announcements and advice in our career portals as described above.
  • You will acquire tools and methods needed to look for internships through the career events we hold within CareerTuesdays.
  • You can get individual guidance and support through one-on-one meetings with our career counsellors.
  • You can talk with companies and organisations about internship opportunities at career fairs organised on campus.

Be active as a volunteer

If you want to be active alongside your Master’s studies, why not work as a volunteer? You will not only make a difference in society, you will also gain practical experience and soft skills that are valuable for your future career. Our project Student Volunteer is designed to help you get active as a volunteer. We collaborate with Volunteer Office (Volontärbyrån) which provides a portal where you can find volunteering opportunities across Sweden.
