Learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the student should be able:

  • describe the key design-principles and concepts underlying a cybersecurity system, 
  • motivate important security mechanisms of a cybersecurity system,
  • identify and explain relevant vulnerabilities in the different domains, and
  • explain the notion of risk, and describe the main parts of risk management for a system design.


Basic concepts, models, and principles associated with cybersecurity and its applications. 

  • safety in industrial process control.
  • AI for cybersecurity.
  • Internet of Things (IoT) and computer networks.
  • societal perspectives.


Lectures, seminars, and assignments.



If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the disability coordinator of the university.
