Upon completion of the course the student shall be able to
identify and reflect upon how work related to sustainable development is organised and practiced
present a deeper understanding of previously-learned material from the programme in sustainable development
evaluate different perspectives of a sustainable development
critically analyse the conditions for practical work in sustainable development
demonstrate the ability to suggest measures aiming towards a sustainable development, both independently and together with others
The student shall during 18 weeks (minimum) participate in a full-time internship, with an appointed supervisor within the host organisation. The work/tasks during the internship must have a clear relation to sustainable development and train the student to work independently and in cooperation with others.
Course introduction takes place at the university, while supervision is undertaken at the internship location.
Continuous written reports must be submitted during the internship period. A more comprehensive final written report as well as a final oral presentation must be completed by the end of the internship for the examiner, where another student acts as a discussant.
The responsibility to find a suitable internship is essentially the responsibility of the student; the examiner may, if necessary, provide assistance.
Before the start of the internship, the appointed hos supervisor and the internship work plan must be approved by the examiner. The application for the internship (to the university) is made on a special application form provided by the course coordinator (through studentportalen.uu.se).
When the internship is concluded, the appointed supervisor shall issue a completion certificate on a separate form.
