This year we offer a range of new programmes, beginning in autumn 2022.

New Master’s programmes


Innovative therapies such as novel vaccines, immunotherapies, gene and cell therapy are examples of strategies used in a growing field of academic research and the biotech industry. In our Master's programme in Biopharmaceuticals, we follow the entire life cycle of biopharmaceuticals, from design to production, testing and usage. The programme provides a foundation for future academic research or biotech industrial career paths.

Implementation, Transformative Learning and Sustainability

The online Master's Programme in Implementation, Transformation Learning and Sustainability focus on the skills and the know-how to design and facilitate the implementation of sustainable actions and projects in complex global health contexts. The programme is made up of compulsory and elective courses that embrace methods, theory and empirical insights from case studies that will support students to carry out an independent research project within the field of sustainable development and global health.

International and European Law and Business

The Master's Programme in International and European Law and Business is unique in its combination of business studies and commercial law. It focuses on knowledge and tools to reconcile business objectives with applicable legal rules and ethical considerations. The programme is designed both for those who have a background in business studies and want to supplement their education with studies in commercial law, and for those who have a background in commercial law and want to deepen their knowledge in business studies.

This research-oriented Master's programme in Psychology guides students to a deeper understanding of how the mind works, including human development, emotion, cognition and mental health. It takes them from this science of mental life to its application to critical topics facing society today, be that mental health or global sustainability. Note that the programme has a research focus and does not meet the educational requirements for licensure or certification as a licensed professional clinical psychologist.

Turkic Studies

The programme is designed for students with a strong interest in acquiring an advanced knowledge of Turkic linguistics, philology and literary studies. They will study in an international environment with teachers and students from diverse academic, educational, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Students acquire broad and specialised knowledge and academic skills in the field of Turcology that qualify for further academic studies, or for academic jobs at universities and research institutions.

Battery Technology and Energy Storage

Energy storage is key for transforming into a climate neutral society and a rapidly growing industry. The Master's Programme in Battery Technology and Energy Storage focuses on the fundamentals of battery materials, cells and systems, and how this technology impacts our society and environment. Qualified professionals in the field are in high demand and this programme provides you with an attractive profile in an expansive labour market. Uppsala University harbours one of Europe's largest research facilities dedicated to the science and development of batteries, with close ties to global industrial producers and users of batteries.

All-Electric Propulsion Systems

The electrification of the transport sector is happening now. The Master's Programme in All-Electric Propulsion Systems will help students develop expertise in electro mobility and the engineering skills required to meet the demands of the evolving automotive industry. The Master's Programme in Biophysics equips students to understand complex biological systems at the molecular level, using fundamental physics concepts and methods. New Bachelor’s programmes

Sustainable Development in Industrial Engineering

The Bachelor's Programme in Sustainable Development in Industrial Engineering provides a broad knowledge of industrial engineering and an extensive understanding of how sustainability can be used in order to develop industrial production for the future. During the programme, students will learn about digitalisation, change management, and sustainable development in close cooperation with potential future employers. Students will learn to improve processes related to operations management, logistics and production management to create more efficient flows between activities in industrial companies.

Leadership – Quality Management – Improvement

The Bachelor’s Programme in Leadership – Quality Management – Improvement trains students to develop companies and organisations of the future with a long-term sustainability perspective. It approaches business- and organisational development in terms of its social, ecological and economic sustainability. This lay the foundation for long-term perspective of development and improvement where profits do not arise as a result of losses sustained by other stakeholders.
