  • Location: Campus Gotland, Lecture hall D22
  • Type: Lecture
  • Organiser: Campus Gotland
  • Contact person: Annika Jörnemark

The University guide Mikael Norrby speaks about why 'Valborg', or last of April, has been celebrated as the beginning of spring for hundreds of years.

In the early 19th century it gradually became a student festival, and many unique traditions developed in Uppsala and in some other Swedish university cities.

Learn the story of how a 5th century English princess became the beginning of a constantly evolving tradition, today regarded as one of the most important dates in the calendar of an Uppsala student, and how you can be a part of the next step of this evolution – last of April Campus Gotland style.

Where: Lecture hall D22
When: Thursday 27 April, 16:30-17:30
