Learn Swedish!

For fee-paying students, we offer 'Introduction to everyday Swedish', a short non-credit course consisting of 7 lessons on Campus. For all students – but with priority given to students that are not liable for tuition fees – we offer more comprehensive courses in 'Basic Swedish'. These courses have pre-recorded lectures, combined with practice sessions on Campus.

If spaces are available, fee-paying students can audit 'Basic Swedish' free of charge but will not be formally registered. Instead of credits they will receive a certificate of completion. If fee-paying students prefer credits, they can choose to pay for the courses (11,250 SEK). The courses are free of charge for students that are not liable for tuition fees.

Application for the courses – autumn 2025

'Introduction to everyday Swedish' will run from 7 October to 28 October. 'Basic Swedish 1' will start at the end of September and run until the middle of December.

Learning some Swedish before you arrive

English may be the working language at our international programmes and courses and it may also be sufficient to use English in everyday life, since most Swedes are reasonably fluent in English.

However, good Swedish skills facilitate the start of your new life in Sweden and you may find that learning Swedish will help you to integrate more easily. Read more at Studyinsweden.se about learning Swedish.
