SANORD2025@Aarhus
Between 13 and 15 August 2025, the Annual Cnnference of the Southern Africa-Nordic Centre (SANORD), was organized at Aarhus University, Denmark, on Knowledge Economies in a Changing World. The organization committee was chaired by Bjaarke Parup-Larsen. The conference brought together scholars, practitioners, and students from across the globe to tackle pressing issues, forge new partnerships, and ignite innovative solutions. Plenaries with key notes, and round-tables were mixed with workshops, and special interest groups. Divine Fuh, University of Cape Town, gave a key note on Africa Charter on Transformative Research Collaborations, and Sylvie Namwase, Makerere University & Ole Wæver, Copenhagen University, gave a joint key note on University collaborations as agents of equity in an unequal world.

Uppsala University is one of seven universities in Southern Africa, and the Nordic region that founded SANORD in 2007. Forum for Africa Studies' Sten Hagberg, and Kajsa Hallberg Adu attended the SANORD Conference, and presented papers. Next SANORD Conference will be organized by the University of Namibia (UNAM) in September 2026.
