Students welcomed with "fika"

Friday 23 January new students visiting from Africa, studying African Studies or curious about Uppsala University's Africa collaborations were welcomed to a student "fika" or informal meeting over coffee.

The event featured presentations from the forum about our programs, we heard from Helin Kartal-Bäckman and Emma Elliott from the central administration about opportunities and upcoming conferences. The African Student Association of Uppsala (ASAU) also joined in welcoming the students.

16 students from Morocco in the north to South Africa in the south, and from Chemistry to Peace and Conflict studies joined the event. They were encouraged to join the Forum mailing list and follow us on Facebook.
