Research Presentations by Rosa De Jorio

Affiliated Researcher, Prof. Rosa De Jorio, University of North Florida, visited Uppsala University's Forum for Africa Studies in March 2026, and made a series of important presentations on her research in and on Mali. She gave a Friday Seminar in Africa Studies on The Politics of Gender-Based Violence in the Work of Mali’s Truth, Justice, and Reconciliation Commission (TJRC), as well as two interventions at the Sahel Symposium 24-25 March. Prof. De Jorio is a long-time collaborator with the Forum, notably with the Mande Studies Association (MANSA), and the Citizen Perspectives on Societal Challenges in Mali. In 2025, De Jorio and Hagberg co-chaired a panel at the European Conference on African Studies.
