Today, social media provide ample opportunities for researchers to collect and analyse data on users’ behaviours online. In particular, Twitter has become an increasingly popular and easily accessible platform that provides social scientists with data not only on the content of tweets, but also relationships and connections between the users that can be used to create social networks.
During this workshop, we will learn how to analyze data from Twitter and will go through the basics of network analysis with the help of the R statistical computing environment. Workshop participants will have an opportunity to learn the basics of R programming and perform exploratory analysis the existing network data, as well as to discuss the possibilities to use network analysis in their own research
The workshop does not require previous experience with R.
