Thank you for DHNB 2022!
The 6th Digital Humanities in the Nordic and Baltic Countries Conference wrapped up in March. Thanks to all who made this conference a success, including the attendees, presenters, workshop organizers, keynote speakers, and our co-organizers at the Uppsala University Library and the Department of ALM!
DHNB conferences focus on research, education and communication in the interdisciplinary field of digital humanities in the Nordic and Baltic regions and beyond, and DHNB 2022 highlighted the two-way relationship between digital humanities theory and praxis and society. Digital humanities’ research brings together technical implementation with critical discourse to correspond to broader cultural and institutional settings. A special focus in many of the presentations was on how digital humanities can make a difference to society outside the confines of academia and societal and political spheres more generally. Key-note speakers included Dr. Wolfram Horstmann on the intersection of the humanities and libraries, Dr. Koraljka Golub on the conjunction of knowledge organization and digital humanities, and Dr. Roopika Risam's talk on digital humanities as activism.

In addition to the many outstanding talks, there were walks through historical downtown Uppsala, tours of the special collections at Carolina Redviva, and it was wonderful to get everyone together again and to welcome those who were experiencing DHNB for the first time.
