Temporary municipal employment strengthens marginalized groups

Two years after the program, employment was higher, social assistance recipiency lower, and the consumption of psychotropic drugs had decreased. 80 percent of the participants were foreign-born.
The figure compares persons with (solid line) and without (dashed line) 12-month temporary employment at a regular municipal workplace. The period under study is 2012– 2016. Among former participants who were employed after the program, one third worked in the same sector as in which they had the temporary employment.
