Title: Preterm Birth Prediction in Canada: An application of machine

Abstract: An estimated 15 million babies are born preterm (less than 37 weeks of complete gestation) each year worldwide, and of which, approximately 1 million do not survive. Preterm birth (PTB) complications are responsible for many short and long-term medical conditions, including respiratory distress syndrome, chronic lung disease, cardiovascular disorders, asthma, and hearing and vision loss.

In this talk, we present some data from preterm birth Worldwide, Sweden, Canada and show how the performance of machine learning in a real application. Specifically, I will show what is the best practice of developing good prediction models in medical sciences. Steps of several machine learning models will be introduced and all methods will be explained by 600,000 real birth data from Ontario, Canada.

The seminar will be held on Zoom with a link to be posted at the morning of the event.
