WP 2, 3 and 4 are the development work packages which will progress in consecutive order (one after the other).

WP 1: Management and Administration

The Unit for Global Partnerships at UU (Sweden) coordinates the PEP project. This means that UU is responsible for the project administration including the PEP budget (almost EUR 400,000).

UU oversees the project implentation togehter with the PEP Steering Committee (SC). The SC consists of one contact person from each partner university. The SC meets IRL or digitally at least three times/year.

WP 2: Developing Professional English Programs

Unit for Professional English (UPE) at the Department of English at UU has been the leader of this work package.

During the kick-off meeting and the meeting in Ivory Coast, we have discussed how to develop strategies, frameworks and activities for implementing Professional English Programs at the West African partner universities.

We used the Design Thinking method to analyse which institutional change is necessary to build successful Professional English Programs. Design Thinking is a human-centered approach to problem-solving. It’s solution-based and user-centric rather than problem-based. This means it focuses on the solution to a problem instead of the problem itself.

Design Thinking helped us to build mutual understanding in the consortium and to develop a good working relationship in the team which has been essential for the collaboration.

This WP was ready in 2024.
