PDEAPP - Partial Differential Equations and Applications
PDEAPP consists of members from seven mathematics departments representing six different countries:
- University of Joseph Ki-Zerbo, Burkina Faso
- Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia
- Eduardo Mondlane University, Mozambique
- University of Rwanda, Rwanda
- Busitema University, Uganda
- Makerere University, Uganda
- University of Zambia, Zambia
The activities are coordinated by Professor Banzi Wellars at University of Rwanda and Professor Hamidou Toure at University of Joseph Ki-Zerbo in Burkina Faso.
ISP has supported the network since its formation in 2018.
Objectives
The overall goal of the research group is to strengthen the growth of Partial differential equations and application in Africa through research and publication.
The first strategic objective is to identify and formulate new research projects, to train research group members in research proposal grant writing.
The second strategic objectives to achieve this goal is the support MSc and PhD students.
The third strategic objective is research collaboration North- South and South-South through research visits.
Two research projects are undergoing namely Dirichlet Boundary value problem for nonlinear elliptic equations with variable exponents and Neumann Boundary value problem for nonlinear elliptic equations with variable exponents.
