Physics groups in Uganda
ISP Physics supports the following research groups in Uganda:
- Materials for energy conversion at Makerere University
- Astrophysics and space science at Mbarara University of Science & Technology
Materials for energy conversion
This research group at Department of Physics, Makerere University has received ISP support since 1989. The activities are coordinated by Dr Denis Okello. The group is also a member of the ISP supported MSSEESA network.
Objectives
The main objective of the group is to study properties of thin films (optical, magnetic and electrical).

Astronomy and space science
ISP support to this research group at Department of Physics, Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST), started in 2013. The activities are coordinated by Dr Edward Jurua. The group is also a member of the ISP supported EAARN network.
Objectives
The main objective of the group is to build research capacity in astrophysics and space science in Uganda.
