We are pleased to announce that the Centre for Multidisciplinary Studies on Racism, CEMFOR and the Centre for Multidisciplinary Research on Religion and Society, CRS, are co-organising a research seminar on Islamophobia in Sweden.
The seminar will engage current scholarship on Islamophobia in Sweden, taking as its point of departure the new special issue of the Islamophobia Studies Journal (Vol. 9, No. 2, 13 March 2026).
It will examine how Islamophobia may be understood as a structured form of anti-Muslim racism and discuss its implications for civil society, public administration, legal processes, and Muslims’ opportunities for full and equal participation in Swedish society.
The seminar is intended for researchers, doctoral candidates, students, civil society actors, with an interest in religion, racism, politics, and contemporary social developments.
Registration is required. Please note that there is a limited number of seats.
Main language is Swedish. If needed we may organise informal translation to English.
