Disorder in Materials and Neutron Scattering Workshop

On the 2nd of October we will host a workshop in connection with Ida Nielsen's PhD defence the following day (titled “Water in Prussian blue analogues: A blessing or a curse?”).

We have invited leading experts from around the world to present on topics from dynamics and disorder to perovskites and Prussian blues all with a touch of neutron scattering in between. It will be a great overview of a range of topics that each have something in common with the PhD defence.

So please mark the date in your calendar and share with your colleagues to not miss this great opportunity to see some fascinating talks!

Time: Thursday 2 October 2025, at 13:00–16:00 hrs

Place: Room 4101, Ångstrom Laboratory

Program

  • Opening by William Brant (Uppsala University)
  • 13:05-13:35 hrs: Prof. Elizabeth Blackburn (Lund University) – “title TBD”
  • 13:35-14:05 hrs: Prof. Maths Karlsson (Chalmers) - “Neutron scattering studies of dynamics in metal halide perovskites”
  • 14:05-14:50 hrs: Dr. Matthew Tucker (Oak Ridge National Laboratory) – “Amorphisation, random local polarisation and polar vortices all in Perovskites”
  • Fika/Coffee Break
  • 15:15-16:30 hrs: Prof. Andrew Goodwin (University of Oxford) – “Structural complexity in Prussian Blue analogues”

Looking forward seeing you there!
