Joanne Woodford receives grant for inviting a visiting researcher

Holly Sugg and Joanne Woodford

Lecturer Holly Sugg and Associate Senior Lecturer Joanne Woodford.

Congratulations to Joanne Woodford, who has been awarded a grant of SEK 218 000 from Forte! The grant will support the invitation of Dr Holly Sugg as a visiting researcher to our research group.

Holly Sugg is a lecturer at the University of Exeter, specialising in mental health services research. As a visiting researcher, she will help develop our group’s skills in using integrative mixed methods research for studying complex healthcare interventions. She will visit Uppsala multiple times to lead seminars and workshops on mixed methods research.

– I look forward to collaborating with my new colleagues in Uppsala, says Holly Sugg. The lectures, seminars, and workshops I will lead will focus on techniques for integrating data during analysis. These techniques can help us to gain deeper insights into how interventions work, for whom, and under what circumstances and, as such, ultimately inform the development of personalised interventions.

Joanne Woodford looks forward to invite Holly Sugg as a visiting researcher.

– Integrative mixed methods research is an innovative approach in healthcare research, and Holly Sugg is an expert in this area, says Joanne Woodford. Our goal is to equip healthcare researchers with the skills to conduct mixed methods analysis when developing, testing, and evaluating complex interventions. I hope that this can help to add value to complex intervention research conducted in Sweden.

We are excited to learn more about integrated mixed methods over the coming year! Stay tuned for updates on the dates and locations of upcoming workshops and seminars.
