New members of U-CARE Steering Committee

We are pleased to announce that new members have been appointed to the U-CARE Steering Committee.

U-CARE Steering Committee decides on general guidelines for U-CARE, sets the overarching agenda for U-CARE, appoints members to the U-CARE Executive Committee, and annually proposes a budget, operational plan, and annual report.

The following persons have been appointed as members of U-CARE Steering Committee by the Disciplinary Domain Board of Medicine and Pharmacy:

  • Karin Forsberg Nilsson, Chair, for the period 1 March, 2025 – 29 February, 2028 (re-election)
  • Mikael Elinder, Member, for the period 1 March, 2025 – 29 February, 2028 (re-election)
  • Jenny Eriksson Lundström, Member, for the period 1 March, 2025 – 29 February, 2028 (re-election)
  • Susanne Guidetti, Member, for the period 1 March, 2025 – 29 February, 2028 (newly elected)
  • Daniel Molin, Member, for the period 1 March, 2025 – 30 June, 2026 (newly elected)
  • Lena Wettergren, Member, for the period 1 March, 2025 – 29 February, 2028 (re-election)

Introduction of the members

Karin Forsberg Nilsson is a Professor of Stem Cell Research, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Uppsala University, and SciLifeLab Faculty. The goal of her research is an improved treatment of malignant brain tumors.

Mikael Elinder is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics, Uppsala University. His research focuses on applied microeconomics with interdisciplinary elements, and includes: health economics, inheritance and gifts, voting behaviour, housing, and pensions.

Jenny Eriksson Lundström is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Informatics and Media, Uppsala University. Her research focuses on AI and ethics, knowledge representation, as well as digitalisation and IT innovation processes, particularly the utilisation of digital technologies.

Susanne Guidetti is a Professor at the Department of Occupational Therapy, Karolinska Institutet, and the research group leader for the HELD research group. Her research focuses on developing and evaluating complex interventions related to health promotion and prevention, education, and rehabilitation in occupational therapy, with a broader interdisciplinary strategy.

Daniel Molin is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the Department of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology, Uppsala University. His research centers on clinical and translational research in lymphoma, particularly Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Lena Wettergren is a Professor of Care Science at the Department of Public Health and Caring Sciences, Uppsala University. Her research focuses on sexual and reproductive health among young adults with cancer, and she leads the research programme Fex-Can – Fertility and Sexuality After Cancer.
