U-CARE’s new Guest Professor Shaun Treweek visits Uppsala

U-CARE is pleased to welcome our new visiting professor Shaun Treweek, who will be visiting Uppsala on 20-21 August. During these two days, he will meet with researchers within U-CARE to learn more about the research projects we are conducting and to initiate new collaborations. In connection with the visit, he will also give a presentation on the importance of equity, diversity, and inclusion in clinical trials.
Presentation: ‘Why equity, diversity and inclusion matter for trial recruitment and retention’
The presentation aims to highlight how underrepresentation in health research can contribute to unequal healthcare, and what researchers can do to change this. According to Shaun Treweek, researchers need not only to ask how many participants are recruited to a study, but also who they are.
The presentation will be held in English and is open to all interested participants.
