Soon, U-CARE research assistant Louise Asberg Dun is taking part in the Clinical Trial Management Course, held in Edinburgh, Scotland. The course is jointly organised by the University of Edinburgh and the University of Aberdeen.

During the course, Louise hopes to gain practical skills related to how clinical trials are conducted.
– I’m especially looking forward to learning more about innovative study designs, which means new types of study designs that can be applied in clinical research. For example, this can include adaptive study designs and trials conducted within cohorts.
A return visit to Edinburgh
For Louise, the course is also an opportunity to return to Edinburgh, a city she visited several times during her studies at the University of Glasgow.
– I completed both my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and my Master’s degree in Global Mental Health at the University of Glasgow, and Edinburgh is only 45-minutes away by train, Louise explains. It’s a historic city that’s particularly beautiful at this time of year.
Hopes to make use of her new knowledge
In her daily work, Louise Asberg Dun mainly contributes to the CHANGE-pilot project, which focuses on testing a psychological self-help programme for parents of children treated for cancer. She hopes that the new knowledge gained from the course will be useful in this project.
– We’re planning to start our study soon, and hopefully my new insights will come in handy then, Louise concludes.
