This month, Julia Müller and Fatema Anam have joined our research group as interns. They will be doing their internships until spring 2026 and will be involved in different research projects.
First time in Sweden
Julia Müller is studying for a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Ulm, Germany. It is her first time in Sweden, and she will be involved in the CHANGE-pilot study, which tests a psychological self-help programme for parents of children treated for cancer. She will work closely with her supervisor, Research Assistant Louise Asberg Dun.
So far, Julia has been reading articles about the self-help programme and what has been done so far in the project.
– I will assist in writing the study protocol of the CHANGE-pilot study. I will look for gaps that might be difficult to see for someone who has been involved in the project for a long time, says Julia Müller.
Wants to pursue a PhD
Fatema Anam is studying for a Master’s degree in Public Health at Umeå University. Sha has visited Uppsala a few times before and is looking forward to learning more about scientific methods.
– I’m planning to pursue a PhD after my master’s studies, and I think U-CARE is a great place to learn about scientific methods, says Fatema Anam.
Fatema will be involved in a research project aimed at identifying barriers and facilitators for mental health in Ghana, based on social determinants of health.
– I will conduct a thematic analysis of interviews with healthcare professionals. My analysis will be used combined with an analysis by my supervisor, PhD Candidate Victoria Awortwe, she explains.
We are so happy that Julia and Fatema have joined our research group, and we look forward to working with you! 🌿
