Ella Thiblin’s dissertation focuses on testing and further developing a self-help programme for parents of children who have been treated for cancer.
– The self-help programme is based on cognitive behavioral therapy and is aimed at parents experiencing anxiety and depression, explains Ella Thiblin.
As part of the preparations for her defence, a pre-seminar was arranged today. After presenting a summary of her dissertation, a discussion was conducted led by Professor Erik Olsson.
The discussion addressed, among other things, the choice to conduct a feasibility study rather than a randomised controlled trial. Other questions included the difference between low-intensity and high-intensity cognitive behavioral therapy, as well as the choice of the specific target group for the support programme.
We are now looking forward to the dissertation in two weeks!
