Sophie Nadia Gaber receives grant from the Kamprad Family Foundation

The project, titled ‘SOVA – Sleep Optimisation interVention for people living with dementia And their family carers’, aims to adapt and develop an intervention to improve sleep with and for people living with dementia and their family carers in a Swedish context.

Sophie Nadia Gaber is the principal investigator of the project.

- I am very pleased to receive this grant. It enables us to adapt, develop, and test an intervention that addresses an important gap in support for people living with dementia and their family carers, as there is currently a lack of practical, non-drug support to help manage sleep disturbances which are common among these populations, says Sophie Nadia Gaber.

The project will run from Autumn 2026 to 2029, and it uses a collaborative approach with people with lived experience of dementia and caregiving, as well as partners from health and social care, and community-based organisations.
