The XVIth Hugo Valentin Lecture

Professor Kalyvas is Arnold Wolfers Professor of Political Science and Director of the Programme on Order, Conflict and Violence at Yale University. He has published extensively on civil war violence and international relations, and is author of the groundbreaking The Logic of Violence in Civil War (Cambridge UP, 2006). Professor Kalyvas has received numerous fellowships and grants, and been a guest reseasrcher at institutions such as the European University Institute and the United States Peace Institute. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation.
