UHGS partners in EU Education Programme on Genocide and Mass Atrocities under international Law
From 28 January to 1 February 2025, the UHGS participated in an EU-funded training programme in Kraków on genocide and mass atrocities under international law.
This one-week Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) was organised by Deusto Law School and co-funded by the European Union. The aim of the programme is to provide students with cutting-edge knowledge on the functioning and practice of mass atrocities and genocide, and to reflect on the (limited) responses provided by international law since 1945. Other members of the consortium include the University of Zagreb, the Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznań and the University of Loyola.
The programme took place in Kraków, Poland, and began with a lecture on the theory and practice of genocide by Professor Tomislav Dulić. Part of the course included a students visit to the former extermination camp of Auschwitz Birkenau.
