Abstract
In his talk “Russian approaches to international law after the aggression against Ukraine”, Lauri Mälksoo will tackle the origins of Russia's behaviour and rhetoric in the context of international law. The focus is on the imperial thought which never disappeared and Moscow's quest for maintenance of great power status which animates the Russian approach to international law. Also the question will be tackled what is Russia's ultimate project in its war against Ukraine and how this war affects the 'rules based international order'.
