New management team for WOMHER
On February 1, WOMHER's new management team will take office, with Emma Hovén becoming the new director and Ingela Nyström the deputy director. Ingela Nyström, Deputy Director of WOMHER and Emma Hovén, Director of WOMHER.
Emma Hovén is a researcher at the Department of Women's and Children's Health at Uppsala University. Her research is mainly conducted in the field of psycho-oncology. Psychological ill health, psychosocial problems, socio-economic consequences and support needs in connection with a cancer diagnosis are in focus.
“I am both happy and honored to get the opportunity to lead and represent WOMHER in the exciting phase that the research center is embarking on. As the new director, I look forward to working alongside the excellent WOMHER team towards increased knowledge and awareness of mental illness in women of childbearing age.”
Ingela Nyström is a professor of visualization with a focus on medical image analysis and director of graduate studies at the Department of Information Technology. She is already involved in WOMHER's management team but is now taking over as deputy director.
“I have been involved in WOMHER’s organisation since the centre was founded in 2020. It is a great privilege - but also a responsibility - to now lead WOMHER into the future together with Emma. I am looking forward to many interesting meetings with researchers engaged in this interdisciplinary research topic. “
