Call for application to host a BUP event

This year BUP has an opportunity to give support to colleagues at BUP participating universities that are ready to host and organise a BUP academic event/activity that is of interest and relevance to sustainability and a Baltic Sea Region perspective, and that encourage interdisciplinary co-operations.  

(Image removed) The BUP academic event/activity should be:

  • aimed at students, university teachers, or researchers: A conference, a training, a workshop, a summer school, or similar for at least 25 participants
  • announced for the participants from the BUP participating universities and potentially have participants from all BUP countries
  • preferably organised during the calendar year 2022
  • connected to the BUP Strategy and BUP Themes

The hosting university should be the main organiser, responsible for the program of the event and in cooperation with the coordinating secretariat or/and the BUP National Center in the respective country. The hosting university should also take care of the practicalities at the place like accommodation, food, and local transportation, as well as assist participants in necessary documentation (invitations, visa support documents, etc).

The budget available to apply for is between 5 000 to 20 000 euros.

The deadline is 28 of February 2022. The results will be announced before 1st of April.

Application should include:

  • Name of the University
  • Department/ Unit which will host and organise the event
  • Name and contact details of the person responsible
  • General idea and motivation to arrange the event (connection to BUP Themes etc) (500 words)
  • Preliminary Programme/ Plan
  • Preliminary budget (can include costs of stay, premises, stationary, food, local transportation, excursion, social event, overhead costs)
