Application open for internship during spring 2023

The Baltic University Programme's Coordinating Secretariat now welcome applications for the position as intern during spring 2023. Offering internships is one way that the BUP strives towards supporting students in their first career steps.

The Secretariat coordinates the Programme with nearly 90 participating universities in the Baltic Sea Region, cooperating for education and research in Sustainable Development and Democracy. The BUP Coordinating Secretariat is placed at Uppsala University. The City of Uppsala, as one of the oldest cities in Sweden, has a lot of attractions and beautiful places. It is also situated close to Stockholm (70 km) and the international airport Arlanda (35 km).

The intern will assist the Secretariat with coordinating projects and organising conferences and trainings for researchers, teachers and students. The BUP is also developing digitalised education material in which the intern would assist the Secretariat.

Conditions of the BUP internship

The Baltic University Programme provides a workplace at the Secretariat office in Uppsala as well as work management during the internship time. As the BUP is an international programme, the working language is English.

The internship is unpaid and the intern also needs to cover travels, accommodation and their own living costs. We encourage applicants outside of Sweden to turn to their local Erasmus offices to investigate the opportunities for receiving traineeship grants.

Requirements

The applicant should be enrolled at one of the BUP participating universities. Since the work of The Baltic University Programme is structured around 10 BUP themes related to sustainable development it is required that the applicant has knowledge of and an interest in the field of sustainable development.

In order to apply, please write a CV and a motivation letter. In your motivation letter please include why you are interested in the position as intern, previous work experiences and what it is that makes you a good candidate. Applications should be sent to the BUP Project coordinator Lyudmyla Babak via lyudmyla.babak@balticuniv.uu.se

The period, duration and workload of the internship will be defined individually depending on the intern's interests and skills. The application call is open until 15 November.
