Welcome to apply to the BUP Teachers’ Course

The BUP Associated Secretariat in Finland proudly announces the BUP Teachers’ Course 2023–2024! The course aims to improve the implementation of Agenda 2030, especially Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), in the learning methods in Higher Education.

The course takes place from September 2023 to March 2024 and the program contains online material, exercises, discussions in groups, two workshops, as well as preparations and presentations of an individual project.

Each participant will develop a so-called Change project during the course. The Change project is based on an already existing course, study program, or a future teaching experience. The idea is to change the content to better integrate ESD. The planning and implementation of the Change project will be the main outcome of the course. All the participants will have the support of a critical friend and peer reviews via the e-platform Moodle and during the workshops.

The complete fulfillment of the course will generate a diploma/certificate corresponding to 5 ECTS by the Centre for Lifelong Learning at Åbo Akademi University, Finland.

This course is free of charge for all colleagues at BUP participating universities. The last day to apply is 18 August 2023.

As a part of the RESCUU project, there are 8 travel grants available for Ukrainian teachers to participate in the course. Those interested in the grant need to state this in the application form under "Comments to the organizers". Those Ukrainian teachers who will be selected to participate in the course will be given a travel grant to take part in the meetings. The grant will be in the form of tickets (no monetary) and be administrated by Lyudmyla Babak at the BUP Coordinating Secretariat.
