Research

My research focuses on education, inequality and segregation, with particular attention to social sorting in relation to housing and school segregation, families' preferences and school choice, and how these processes are associated with students' educational outcomes and trajectories. My interest spans the educational career, from early childhood education through the later school years. I mainly use quantitative methods, especially register-based analyses with spatial and longitudinal approaches, but I also work with survey data, discrete choice models and mixed methods.

I am also one of the research leaders of Housing, Education and Segregation (BUS), a multidisciplinary research environment at the Department of Education, in collaboration with the Institute for Housing and Urban Research (IBF), that examines the relationship between housing, education and segregation.
