My main research areas involve Turkic languages (especially Uyghur and Eastern Turki but other languages as well), history of medicine (Eastern Turki medical texts), nature and landscape in an Eastern Turki context, mazar pilgrimage among the Uyghurs as well as various aspects of Uyghur cultural history.

2023- Three-year international post-doc supported by by the Swedish Research Council (VR) with the title: Oasis Life in Eastern Turkestan: The Matrix of Culture, Language and Landscape in the Late 19th and Early 20th Centuries

2022- Teacher (selected courses) at Uppsala University

2022-01-29 Public defense at Uppsala University with PhD thesis entitled Languages of healing: Theories, practice and terminology within Eastern Turki medicine in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
