Short presentation
In my doctoral research, I analyze the social, legal, and everyday situation of refugees who were placed in the rural municipality of Avesta in mid-Sweden, in the mid-2010s. My main focus is on the waiting for asylum-procedures or other legal bureaucratic processes to unfold; the uncertain and precarious conditions such waiting produce; how refugees cope with such waiting; and the different responses such waiting produce on local as well as on national level.
