Short presentation

I work at the interface of quantum field theory, string theory and mathematics. A central theme for my research is to develop new tools for understanding non-perturbative systems. I am the principal investigator of an ERC consolidator grant on the higher structure of symmetries, and the deputy director of the Simons Collaboration on Global Categorical Symmetries.

Keywords

  • quantum field theory
  • string theory
  • supersymmetry
  • conformal symmetry
  • generalized symmetries

Biography

I have received my PhD in 2013 from SISSA (Trieste, IT), followed by an appointment as a research fellow at Harvard University (2013-2016), and then as a research assistant professor at the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics in Stony Brook, NY (2016-2018). Before joining the faculty at Uppsala University, I have been a lecturer at the Department of Mathematical Sciences of Durham University, UK (2018-2020).

Research

Links to all my works can be found on googlescholar or inSPIREs.

Here is a selection of online recordings for some of my seminars:

Thanks to the support of the ERC (StG MEMO, CoG HIGH), the Uppsala University co-funding, the Simons Foundation, and the Vetenskapsrådet I have the opportunity of supervising a research group based across the Mathematics Department and the Theoretical Physics Division of the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
