Short presentation

My research interest lies in the expansion of state regulation during the 19th and 20th centuries. I have previously written about Norwegian forest regulations during the early 1900s.

My doctoral project concerns the Norwegian and Swedish brewery cartels between 1906-1956. By utilizing the cartels' own archives as well as that of state cartel agencies, the goal is to better understand the role of cartelization in a period of increasing state regulation as well as changing market conditions.
