Short presentation
Hüsne Akgöl is a PhD student focusing on grassroots patriarchal backlash against women's mobilisation in civil war contexts. Her research interests include conflict-related shifts in gender relations, women in non-state armed groups, and the role of social leaders in backlash. She previously worked at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) as a Senior Protection Assistant focusing on gender-based violence prevention, mitigation and response in Turkey.
