Research
Currently, my research is focused on Ethics in relation to disasters. I have developed a conceptual framework called Ethics for 4Rs (Readiness, Reduction, Response, and Recovery) or E4Rs in short which consists of three main concepts: Risk, Ethics, and Law. My goal is to investigate the different ethical values that are most prominent in relation to the different phases of disaster. I am also interested why these values are important and if these values are consistently followed, applied in different socio-cultural, legal, political, institutional, and economic contexts. To this end, my reserach is focused on earthquake induced disasters with case studies in New Zealand, Italy, Sweden, and Nepal.
