Short presentation

I am a lecturer and researcher coming from studies in IT, the humanities, and environmental sciences, from jobs in the IT sector, and from teaching at the University of Borås. My PhD, on sustainable data centres, is from Lancaster University, UK. I founded the non-profit organization OTEC Africa to provide equatorial countries with sustainable energy, and do authoring work for Pearson Publishing. I am a workstream lead within the Open Compute Project (OCP) Foundation's Sustainability tenet.

Research

My research is on sustainable data centres, more specifically on uses for data centre waste heat (stemming from 1-2% of world electricity) in various societal and geographical contexts. This is a truly fascinating topic - contact me if you want to learn more!

I am also in charge of a project for setting up sustainability courses for all students at Uppsala University. You can read more about this unique project here (in Swedish): https://www.uu.se/medarbetare/aktuellt-for-alla/arkiv/2024-11-15-varlden-i-forandring---studenter-far-lara-sig-om-hallbarhet

Previous research fields include musicology, marine energy and sustainable e-commerce.

Among the current topics I explore, I am especially interested in everything related to sustainability and also to the advancement of systems science as a discipline.
