Research

Acoustofluidics for high-throughput and controlled cellular and molecular applications

Acoustofluidics is gaining prominence in biomedical research, offering non-invasive, label-free, and biocompatible force application. One of my projects explores new methods to fabricate acoustic arrays for cell trapping, and new designs to integrate such arrays with microfluidic channels and sensors. By assisting cell aggregation with acoustics in microwell arrays, this approach enables more consistent and parallel production of spheroids.

On the other hand, 3D printing has emerged as an accessible approach for microfabrication that enables non-planar and freeform structures. In my second project, I explore high-resolution 3D printing to fabricate acoustic structures for fluid manipulation, with potential applications including material synthesis, sample analysis and diagnostics.
