Sourasekhar Banerjee

Short presentation

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at Uppsala University, Sweden, working on privacy-preserving federated learning for IoT intrusion detection. I completed my PhD at Umeå University, where I developed algorithms tackling data heterogeneity, model personalisation, and privacy risk in distributed AI systems. Previously, I designed a Federated Image Privacy Advisor at A*STAR Singapore. My focus is building AI that is adaptive, private, and trustworthy.

Biography

Sourasekhar Banerjee is a dedicated researcher specializing in Federated Learning, Cybersecurity, and Machine Learning. Currently serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Uppsala University's Department of Information Technology, he focuses on creating innovative machine learning methods to enhance the security of IoT systems. Sourasekhar completed his Ph.D. at Umeå University, Sweden, significantly contributing to the optimization and personalization of federated learning models, addressing challenges related to data heterogeneity and system efficiency. He holds an M.Tech degree in Computer Science and Engineering and a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) degree in Computer Science, both from the University of Calcutta. In addition to his research, Sourasekhar actively engages in teaching, reviewing scientific literature, and participating in collaborative scientific communities.
