Field manuals instruct, prescribe and describe archaeological research work
A new article by Isto and Olle has been published in the Journal of Information Science reporting a study of archaeological field manuals as carriers of paradata.
The article "A fieldwork manual as a regulatory device: Instructing, prescribing and describing documentation work" discusses how field manuals instruct, prescribe and describe how archaeological field work is done. By doing so they act as regulatory devices in relation to archaeological work and paradata. The full text of the article text is available open access at the publisher's website.
