The Department of Business Studies, in collaboration with Uppsalaekonomerna, invites you to a conversation with Peter Carlsson, founder and former CEO of Northvolt AB, and Associate Professor León Poblete. Please note that the conversation starts at 9:00.
The conversation will trace the journey of one of Europe’s most ambitious industrial ventures, from the vision of creating “the world’s greenest battery” to the challenges surrounding Northvolt’s rapid expansion and eventual bankruptcy in 2025. Under Peter Carlsson’s leadership, Northvolt partnered with Volkswagen, Volvo Cars, Goldman Sachs, and BlackRock, becoming a symbol of Europe’s green industrial transformation.
Before founding Northvolt in 2016, Peter Carlsson served as Vice President of Supply Chain at Tesla Motors during the launch of the Model S. His executive career also includes positions as Chief Procurement Officer at Sony Ericsson and Senior Vice President of Supply Chain at NXP Semiconductors in Singapore, where he led global purchasing and outsourcing operations.
His commitment to climate action earned him recognition on TIME’s list of the 100 Most Influential Climate Leaders in Business in 2023.
