Jonas Bergquist explains new findings on postcovid

Research on post-covid has made progress, and has now been able to show changes in the brain of patients suffering from post-covid. Professor Jonas Bergquist, at the Department of Chemistry - BMC, explains and answers the viewers' questions in Tv4's morning show Nyhetsmorgon.

In post-covid patients, both biomarkers and imaging show a low-grade of inflammation in the brain, which causes disturbances in memory function and so-called brain fog. The discovery means that researchers now can begin to understand what happens in the brain, seek explanations for the disease, and understand why some are affected for a long time.
