Andreas Kirschning holder of Tage Erlander's visiting professorship
Andreas Kirschning, Professor of Organic Chemistry at Leibniz University Hannover in Germany, has been appointed holder of the Tage Erlander Guest Professorship for 2027. During the year, he will be affiliated with the Department of Chemistry – BMC.
Since 2023, Professor Kirschning has maintained a close collaboration with the organic chemistry research program at the department in Uppsala. He is also actively involved in doctoral education and, through the excellence center Centre for Chemical Mechanisms of Life, he teaches doctoral courses for PhD students.
About the Guest Professorship
The Tage Erlander Guest Professorship was established by the Swedish Research Council to strengthen Swedish research in the natural and technology sciences. The professorship enables Swedish universities to develop a certain subject area by hosting an internationally leading professor for a limited period of time.
