Our research comprises the design and synthesis of:
- tunable fluorophores that span the visible spectrum
- bioimaging scaffolds with improved optical and solubility profiles in aqueous media
- fluorescent compounds that specifically target hypoxia-associated hallmarks in cancer cells (e.g., dysregulated metabolism, enzymatic processes and overexpressed receptors)
- emissive metal complexes for bimodal imaging strategies
